FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions about Intimate Filler

Dr. Kate answers plainly everything women want to know before deciding.

Legal and safety

Is intimate filler legal?

Yes, when a doctor injects it, in a licensed medical facility, using Thai FDA-registered filler. If any one of these is missing, it is illegal. Wherever you go, ask to see the licence numbers first.

What does off-label mean here?

HA fillers registered in Thailand are indicated for the face. Use in the intimate area is therefore off-label, which doctors may do at their professional discretion. The doctor explains this before you sign, every time.

Is intimate filler dangerous? What are the risks?

The common ones are swelling, bruising or a lump you can feel, which usually settle or the doctor can correct. Rare but serious: infection, a blocked blood vessel, and clots or material travelling to vessels elsewhere, which can be life-threatening. Read the full list on the Safety page.

Who should not have it?

Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, have an infection or wound in the treatment area, have a bleeding disorder or take blood thinners, have had an allergy to HA or local anaesthetic, or expect more than filler can actually do.

I have had silicone or another substance injected before. Can I still have filler?

The doctor needs to check you with ultrasound first. In most cases the existing substance has to be dealt with before anything else. We do not inject filler over a foreign substance.

Which filler brand do you use?

Only Thai FDA-registered HA fillers, bought from licensed distributors. On the day, the doctor opens the box in front of you so you can see the product name, registration number and lot.

Procedure and recovery

Does intimate filler hurt?

Very little. The doctor applies numbing cream first, then adds a local anaesthetic. During the injection most women feel only tightness.

How long does it take?

About 60 minutes, including the numbing cream and the observation period after the injection.

Can I go back to my hotel or work the same day?

Yes. You go home the same day and can work as normal. You just avoid certain activities as the doctor advises.

How long must I avoid sex?

14 days, so the filler can settle and to lower the chance of infection.

Can I have treatment during my period?

It is possible but not recommended. Booking when you are not on your period is cleaner and carries less risk of infection.

Can I consult online first?

Yes. Send your questions privately on LINE or WhatsApp, or book a video call with the doctor. But whether to go ahead or not is decided after an examination at the clinic.

Results

Will it look natural?

The doctor aims for a volume that fits your anatomy, so nothing looks obvious in underwear, a swimsuit or fitted trousers. Individual results vary.

Does it help with the inner labia or darker skin?

Not directly. Filler does not reduce the inner labia, but when the outer area is fuller the overall proportions may look more balanced. For skin tone, see our intimate skin brightening page.

Will it affect sensation?

No. Filler sits in the fat layer beneath the skin. It is not designed to change sexual sensation, and we make no claim that it does.

How long does intimate filler last? Is it permanent?

It is not permanent. Most results last about 12–18 months, after which the body gradually breaks the HA down on its own.

Will I need top-ups?

To keep the result, yes. The next session usually needs fewer cc than the first. The doctor assesses this at your follow-up.

Can it be removed if I do not like it?

Yes. The doctor injects the enzyme hyaluronidase to dissolve the HA, unlike liquid silicone or permanent substances, which are hard to remove.

Price, privacy and travel

Is the doctor a woman?

Yes. Dr. Kate (Asst. Prof. Dr. Borisut Sanmano) is a female doctor who examines, injects and follows up every case herself.

How much does intimate filler cost?

It depends on the number of cc the doctor assesses on examination day. Starting prices are on the Pricing page, and we give you the final price in writing before treatment, every time.

Is my information kept confidential?

Yes. Medical records are kept under Thailand's healthcare facility law and the PDPA, and we do not disclose them without your consent.

How many days should international patients stay in Thailand?

At least [XX] days, so the doctor can see you at follow-up before you fly home.

Repair

My mons filler has become lumpy. Can it be fixed?

Yes. If it is HA filler, the doctor dissolves only the problem spot with an enzyme under ultrasound guidance, lets it settle, then re-injects.

I have had silicone or oil injected before. Can it be corrected?

We start with an ultrasound to see the type and extent of the substance, then the doctor plans. If surgery is needed, we arrange referral to a surgical team.

I don't know what was injected. What should I do?

Come for an ultrasound first. It gives an initial answer as to whether it is HA, silicone or oil.

Laser vaginal tightening

Does laser vaginal tightening hurt? Is there downtime?

Not much. Most women feel warmth or mild stinging. No general anaesthetic, and you go straight back to work. Avoid sex and soaking in water for 3–5 days as the doctor sets.

Can it help with bladder leaks?

It helps many women with mild to moderate symptoms. The doctor assesses the severity first. Significant leaks may need another method as well.

Dark groin and women's health

Can a dark groin be treated?

It can improve. The doctor finds the cause first, then chooses a cream or dark groin laser suited to your skin. Results are gradual and need ongoing care.

Can I have a pelvic exam here?

Yes. Pelvic exams and cervical cancer screening with a female doctor in a private room. Book when you are not on your period.
