Injection repair

Penile injection repair: oil, paraffin, silicone and problem filler

If you had oil, paraffin, silicone or filler injected somewhere substandard and, months or years later, it started forming lumps, hurting or distorting, you are not alone. The doctor scans with ultrasound to identify the substance and its extent first, then plans what can be dissolved at the clinic and what needs referral for surgery with the specialist team.

Which problem are you facing?

How we repair it

History and examinationWhat was injected, when, how many times, where, and what symptoms you have now
Ultrasound assessmentShows the type, location and extent of the substance. Some men need an MRI as well.
A plan based on what we findDr. Kate assesses with the specialist team whether to dissolve, treat with medication or refer for surgery, then tells you straight what result is realistic
Repair as plannedIf it can be dissolved or treated with medication, that is done at the clinic. If it needs surgery, we plan it and refer you to a hospital operating theatre.
Follow-upAppointments to check the wound and the result until everything has settled

Other problems we look at

Implanted beads or pearls

If infected, painful or protruding, they can be removed with minor surgery under local anaesthetic

Permanent or counterfeit filler

Chronic inflamed lumps can appear even years later. The substance has to be identified before anything is planned.

Scarring or uneven skin after repair elsewhere

The doctor assesses with the specialist team whether further correction is possible, and whether it is worth doing

Why scan first instead of dissolving straight away

Because the fix depends on what is inside. HA filler dissolves with an enzyme, but oil, paraffin and silicone do not; they have to be removed surgically. Without a scan, there is a real chance of choosing the wrong method, or injecting something on top that makes repair harder. So we assess, plan and refer for surgery based on what we actually find.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will I look the way I did before after repair?

It depends on the substance, how much there is and how long it has been in the body. A fibrous lump from oil injected years ago is harder to fix than HA injected recently. The doctor tells you the realistic result before anything starts, not afterwards.

Does every case need surgery?

Not every case. HA filler can usually be dissolved at the clinic. Oil, paraffin and silicone usually need surgery, which the doctor assesses and refers you for.

If I have no symptoms, do I still need it removed?

Yes, get a scan even without symptoms. Some substances start to inflame only years later. After the scan, the doctor tells you whether you can keep an eye on it or should deal with it now.
